I love old Hollywood images. Generally, Old Hollywood photography conjures up images of glamourous grown up actors and actresses such as Vivian Leigh, Cary Grant, and Grace Kelly. But there are several child actors that are of note as well. And none more iconic than Shirley Temple.
Shirley Temple was always one of my favorite people growing up. Unlike so many child stars, she was not only successful in adulthood, but in a life beyond acting. I've always liked her, and she remains a glamourous adult.
So, when Miss O's mom told me about her vision for a photo shoot based on Shirley Temple (complete with a gorgeous dress made by Miss O's amazingly talented grandma!), I was super excited!
Miss O is only three years old, but she did a great job posing in the studio! We did have several breaks between 'takes,' but I was very impressed. She was a lot of spunky fun, I loved her expressions and her character! And look at those curls!!
Of course, we did try some poses to catch the essence of some favorite Shirley Temple photographs. These two were my favorites, processed in both color and black and white.
And I loved this one which was going to be a throw away shot, but I loved how it turned out!
And at the end Miss O gave me a few more modern images too!
Thank you Miss O! I had so much fun!
