If You Visit My House... | North Carolina Portrait Photography

Facebook fans of mine may remember this photo from some time ago.

Miss K is a friend of mine and she came to keep me company one week when both our husbands were out of town.  She is a former dancer so, naturally, I asked her if she would play model for me so I could play around with some light.  This was all natural light with a tiny video light thrown in when necessary, but mostly without.  We were originally going to only do black and white with these photos, but I decided they worked in color as well.

Because it was a somewhat last minute shoot, and we were watching her daughter at the time, we were somewhat limited in what we could do.   I thought they came out very well considering!

But I have to admit, these two black and white ones are my favorite of the bunch.  The goal was Old-Hollywood-esque, and I thought these matched the best.  Partially because of the interesting shadowing.

As always, let me know what you think!  Compliments and criticism are always welcome!

Small Things

After a lightening-fast move and a late-season run in with the flu, I'm finally getting back into the swing of things.  In honor of this beautiful spring, I'm going to do something a bit different.  Rather than my normal study in portraits, I'm going to show you my other favorite genre of photography; macro photography!

I'm just beginning to explore macro photography.  My technique is definitely flawed  Feel free to comment and critique!

I couldn't help loving these little hearts.

These berries were starting to fall, so I had to get some shots of them before they disappeared completely!

I love these flowers.  And enlarged, they are majestic.

Who can argue with a perfect daffodil?

I still haven't seen what these are yet, but I'm dying to know.  Anyone know just from the photo?

I'm considering printing a few of these out for my new living room.  But I need some help.  Which of these, if any, do you see on a living room wall?
